SIM groups
Groups are user-defined categories that you create when you want to:
- Restrict user access to your SIMs
- Set up monitoring alerts for a selected group
- See the group's overall data usage
By default, all Connectivity Management platform users can access all SIMs. When you add a user to a SIM group, the user can only see SIMs within their assigned group.
You can also set up a monitoring alert for each SIM group and define how the alert is triggered:
- SIM Group (Aggregated)—The combined data usage for all SIMs in the group triggers the alert.
- SIM Group (Individual)—The data usage of any individual SIM in the group triggers the alert.
Info: If you want to add users or monitoring alerts to a SIM group, follow the procedure described in the Manage SIM groups section.
Add or remove a SIM from a group
Use this procedure to:
- Add a SIM to a group for the first time
- Move a SIM from one group to another
- Move a SIM out of a group (add it to "No Group")
Info: To add or change more than one SIM at a time, follow the procedure described in the section Bulk actions.
Note: A SIM can belong to only one group at a time. By default, SIMs belong to the group "No Group".
1. Select the SIM that you want to add.
- To select a SIM from a list, on the main navigation panel, select SIMs, select a status, and then select a SIM from the list.
If you know the SIM's ICCID, or MSISDN you can use the Search bar.
Result: The platform displays the SIM details page.
2. On the SIM Details panel, select the Edit button.
Result: You can now edit the information displayed on the panel.
3. From the Group list, select a SIM group, and then select the save icon to save your changes.
Note: To remove a SIM from a group, select No Group, and then save your changes.
Result: The platform saves your changes and displays a confirmation message.
